川崎市南部で生まれ育った私の原風景…工場の煙突から立ち上る炎で空が紅蓮に染まる、悪しき公害の象徴ともされた光景ですが、幼心に焼き付いているのは、何らかの不思議なエネルギーが胎動するイメージです。今でも湾岸方面に足を延ばせば、溶鉱炉を有した工場群や、鉄屑の積み上がったスクラップヤード等を見ることが出来ます。スクラップは細かく刻まれ、高温で溶かされた後、また新たなものに生まれ変わっていく…まるで輪廻転生の如き営みが、この湾岸のはずれの地で連綿と繰り返されているのです。灰塵からの再生、立ち昇る命の焔（ほむら）…そのような願いを絵筆に込めてみました。特に今苦境の只中にある方々に、このメッセージが幾ばくかでも届き、少しでも力づけることが出来たなら、この上なく幸いに存じます。
 
My original scenery that was born and raised in the southern part of Kawasaki City ... The sky is dyed with red lotus by the flame rising from the chimney of the factory, which is also a symbol of bad pollution, but what is burning in my childhood is some mysterious energy. Even now, if you go to the Gulf, you can see the factories with blast furnaces and the scrap yard where iron scraps are piled up. Scrap is finely chopped, melted at a high temperature, and then reborn as a new one ... A reincarnation-like activity is repeated in the outskirts of this bay. Regeneration from ash dust, the rising flame of life (Homura) ... I tried to put such a wish in a paintbrush. I would be extremely happy if this message could reach some of the people who are in the midst of a difficult situation and help them even a little.
