制作の題材として国宝「片輪車蒔絵螺鈿手箱」(かたわぐるま まきえ らでん てばこ)からのオマージュした作品です
 
1340年頃の作品ですが、作風が現代でも古さを感じさせません
 
作品内容は「川」と「車輪」のみの単純な構成でありながら空気感/時感/日本的自然感を体現する作品です
 
「川面」をそのままに「車輪」を櫓(ヤグラ)にし市松と紅白の吉祥柄へと差し替えました
 
平面の絵画に立体物を組み込む手法を用いて、視覚的な奥行きと物理的な存在感との間に緊張感を生みだす構造になっています
 
This piece pays homage to the National Treasure "Katawaguruma Makie Raden Tebako" (One-Wheeled Wheel, Makie Raden Tebako).
Although it dates back to around 1340, its style remains timeless even today.
Despite its simple composition of only a river and a wheel, the piece embodies a sense of atmosphere, time, and Japanese nature.
While the river surface remains the same, the wheel has been transformed into a yagura (turret) and replaced with auspicious patterns of checkerboard and red and white.
By incorporating three-dimensional objects into a flat painting, the structure creates a sense of tension between visual depth and physical presence.
